I remember reading what a PIA it was to remove the passenger side running boards somewhere in the tech section...they weren't kidding! that was the worst 3 hours I've spent working on the Tahoe...drivers side took me 30 minutes to remove but the passenger side was an absolute nightmare! Great place to run the rear AC lines GM!:flipthebird:

I still need to paint the bottom of the frame black now that I've removed the running boards, a lot more rust under their than I thought. I actually like the way it looks with the boards removed, makes the truck look a lot higher

I doubt it, I'm not a big fan of chrome. Once I finish a few more things on the exterior, off to paint she goes...not sure if I'm keeping it black or going a different route, in the end everything will be color matched

These trucks definitely look better lifted when the steps are off. Unfortunately I have enough friends/family who need them that I have to have a set on there.

I think it's kind of strange that people with lifted trucks that don't come with them are always adding them but if they come stock then they're taking them off. :flamingdevil:

Well they usually get replaced with ones that look much better than stock. I'm really not a fan of the stock steps, visually. Looks better without, or with a separate step that isn't connected to the body, IMO. On lowered trucks it's a different story but for the lifted trucks I prefer something else.

I think the ones like yours look good- connected but they don't look solidly connected if that makes sense. The tubular ones.
