Hi folks,

Quick question - in case anyone thinks I missed anything silly.

I recently picked up a used PPV tahoe.

Rear doors were for the 'guests' - just a piece of sheet metal accross the door.
I picked up a use door pannel, ordered some basic kenwood speakers, and some speaker wire connectors and violla it's installed.

I also picked up some .... installed the with it too.

So it's great, I have some sound coming from the rear, but....

They are very quiet....
and I'm getting almost zero base out of it.
the factory ones in the front give way more kick, and much better low base.

did I miss something easy?

Note - it's the PPV, so I am pretty sure there is no amp (front or rear).

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
b.

thanks - tried that. I've got it at about 80% rear, and that's just to match volume (not getting much pop from them)

But that would have been the easiest solution!

It's so easy to skip over the easy and sometimes obvious to go straight for the deep end.

What impedance (Ohms) are the stock speakers?

Mine were 8 when I looked at mine.

If his were 8, then the rear speakers should be much louder, having half the impedance. Unless the stock head unit has some sort of protection circuitry that kills the signal to a low load to prevent damage to the head unit's internal amp. Probably going off the deep end myself at this point. lol

thanks for the replies folks.
To be honest, I haven't had a chance to play with this much as my old vehicle (jeep grand cherokee) is now developing issues - just as I am trying to sell it! uhgh.

this is the actual speaker i installed.

the ones in front are stock.

I do plan to change out the head unit for a aftermarket one in the next few months when I get a chance. Maybe that might make a difference.

Cheers
