I have a squeaky noise coming out of the dashboard that's been driving me crazy. It only happens if the temperature control slider is all the way down (blue side). It only makes the squealy noise if the slider is ALL the way down to the cold side. Anyone have this problem before? Is the fix something a DIYer could do? Help me out, guys.

Mine did this a year or so ago and turned out it was the driver side blend door actuator. It's since been replaced bc it actually started blowing warm and I got tired of having to turn the truck off then back on to reset it. That soft high pitched squeak has been gone ever since as well.

+1 to the blend door actuator, but if it is temperature related, that would be on the passenger side, correct? The driver side blend door adjusts defrost/vent/floor, I believe.

What side of the dash is the sound coming from? Left or right?

Thanks, did you replace it yourself? I hope it's not too expensive or I'll just have to live with the annoying sound.

The sound is coming from the middle or maybe more towards the right.

This a view from the floorboard looking up toward the bottom of the HVAC case. The component labeled as number 1 is your culprit. IF the driver side temperature control slide is the one you are referring to.

Approximate area of the passengers left foot.

And yes I did it myself, the actuator you can get for less than $50 and install in approx 15min.

Thanks so much, I'm so relieved you don't have to remove the dash to replace the part.
