Electric fan swap

03 Tahoe with a clutch fan, can't keep this thing coil enough for cold air unless I'm moving. Tried 3 different fan clutches, in currently running an OEM Ac Delco clutch and still same issue. I'm considering changing to an electric fan and looking for some feedback on the pros and cons ..

Pros- cooler ac even when idling, no more noisey clutch fan, possible better fuel mileage, better throttle response, freed up hp..

Cons-cost to do the conversion..

Honestly with an 03+ truck it's a no brainer if your willing to buy fans, harness and pay to activate pins for fan control. U don't need a tune to do this but most get it done while being tuned.

I was told the harness is already there in my Truck.. I can get the fans at my buddies junk yard.

That would be a first unless someone added it. If so, your pins may already be activated..just add fans..factory fans didn't start until 05.

None of the harness will be there. If you can get the fans from a junk yard, just get the factory harness and relay panel out of the same truck. Then you dont have to buy a harness from blackbear or whoever and all you have to do it get your computer tuned to turn them on and off.
OR....you can just add an auxillary fan like I did. Don't have to do any tuning. I can send pictures...

It is actually an oem part from an older hd model. https://www.amazon.com/ACDelco-15-8686-Original-Equipment-Auxiliary/dp/B0012PM154 is the fan assembly. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-GM-COOLING-FAN-HARNESS-OEM-88880045-/160862845754 is the harness you need. Sorry if the pictures suck it's kinda hidden behind the grill. Upper bracket has to be bent different to fit the upper radiator support, mine is now riveted in the upper and lower bracket. Relay harness trigger wire goes to the ac clutch trigger wire on the bottom of the fuse panel. Relay power wire goes to power stud in fuse box. Relay ground goes to mounting bracket. Relay output wire goes to fan harness. Fan harness ground I put to trans cooler bracket. Hope this helps. Big difference in ac temp at idle compared to before.

I got the Nelson harness and added the settings in the pcm with hptuners. Love them, it's like a factory install, controllable, and works perfect.
