I noticed they are offering a 3rd row delete option for 2018 but only in the LS "Custom Edition" package...I wish they offered the option across the board but it's good they are offering it now at least...(imo).

The 2018 Tahoe adds a Custom Edition package for the LS trim level, which includes:

  • 18″ painted aluminum wheels
  • P265/65R18 all-season blackwall tires
  • Chrome grille insert (LPO)
The package also deletes the third row passenger seat.

Aren't they fold flat now? If so I am not seeing the excitement. I wouldn't even look at a Tahoe without third row if looking to purchase one.

they fold 'kinda flat' but they are big seats and eat up alot of cargo room in the process (they also make the entry height of the tail gate incredibly high). One of the disadvantages of riding on a truck frame unfortunately.

I agree though, without there 3rd row, the appeal of these falls off quickly.

Why they even offer them with a third row seat is beyond me there's not much space back there anyways if you need that much seating buy a burb or a bus or a van or get a vasectomy just my 2cents

I used my rear seats in my old Yukon quite a few times in the years. My wife and I have talked about buying another tahoe or yukon but she doesn't want a burb or xl due to the length, either way I would the option of a third row due to having kids and wanting the option to take a few extra people. We actually use the third row in her Enclave every so often and I would rather climb in the rear of a Tahoe than that.

It free's up significant vertical space for cargo carrying capacity. I completely understand that the majority demographic want the 3rd row though.

It's just nice for people like me who are fans of truck based SUV's and don't have any family obligations, and want maximum cargo space/utility.

Yes, I could easily trade for a long body but it's nice to have a choice imo...
