Trunk will not open from the rear or with the key..It will click from the back bar but not open..From the key nothing..Any idea what is wrong or do i have to waste a day next week going to the dealer?

Getting ready to hit the road in the next 2 weeks so hope nothing has to be ordered.

Thanks in advance.

If you are under warranty, go to the dealer. Even if they have to order the part, they may be able to have it the next day (or at least come up with a temporary fix).

It is also possible that they just need to reprogram the truck, in which case it could be pretty quick, assuming of course, that GM has a software update. You may want to check a TSB library list.

Yes still under warranty so looks a trip to the dealer this week.

From what I saw last night watching Live PD some of the PPV Tahoe's do not use the power option for the trunk and the Leos just lift and close the trunk by hand..Thinking of asking the dealer if I can go that route.

On the Ford Interceptor vehicles, the latching systems are set up differently from the civilian versions. I do not know that you can retro fit from one type to the other. And, even if you can, the dealer may not be willing to do so (or even be allowed to if parts are sourced based upon VIN). In this regard, my local Chevy dealer always needs the VIN before they can determine whether a part is compatible.

Update.. Turns out the rubber under the trunk on the outside was slightly moved and that caused the trunk from opening..I was out of the dealership in 60 seconds..My service advisor figured out immediately right in the holding bay where I pulled in when nothing he did worked.

Turns out trunk will open if no power..Just pull it up after it unlocks.

Thank you for your help!!
