I got a screaming deal on a 4l65e and a np149 from an 02 escalade. I currently have a 04 Denali that will need the trans/t case(4481) rebuilt soon. I understand the 4481 is basically an open diff and the brakes help control wheel spin. Can I put the fully mechanical np149 in there and make it worth it? Or am I better off just rebuidling the 4481. Anybody done this,advantages..? I know the Silverado ss and sierra denalis all came with the np149 but I'm just trying to figure out which case is better.. thanks
