Vehicle:

2005 5.3L Tahoe LT

Issue:

After replacing the turn signal bulbs with 3157 White/Amber 60SMD Switchback LED's I've found them to function in what seems to be a reversed manner.

Locking/unlocking, LED's flash white.

"Find Me" lights, the LED's stay white.

Turn signals or hazards in the day, LED's stay white and flash white.

Turn signals or hazards at night, LED's stay amber but flash white.

Driving with "Auto" lamp setting in the day, the LED's stay white.

Driving with "Auto" lamp setting at night, the LED's stay amber.

When the LED's "stay" they should be white, and when they "flash" they should be amber. However, as you can see from most of the scenarios the bulbs are flashing white.

Could this be as simple as reversing the polarity? I've found most LED's only work when installed one way, so I'm not sure that would work but will try. Failing that, are the LED's functioning this way due to voltage issues?

I'm really confused with this and would massively appreciate any input from members with experience in this area.

Many thanks in advance!

Definitely try switching the polarity. Switchbacks work by grounding to different locations depending on the desired result. So it sounds like yours need to be grounding opposite of what they are now. Turn them around in the socket and see if that helps.
