I would consider a tune. My milage sucked before I got my 2010 tuned because of the air intake and exhaust. My 22's and 3" lift don't help the fact but I can get 21mpg highway if I try to be a little more conservative. A tune will also give you better performance.

I will look into a black bear tune once i get my lift put on and body module repair paid off. Learned my lesson with cheaper parts.

When did you first notice your decreased fuel mileage? If it's something you've always had, you might consider checking your gear ratio, some of these models came with a 3:08 and some with a 3:42, the 3:42 being for towing etc. Also, have you changed your wheel size from the OEM size?

Heck our 03 2wd Tahoe with a 5.3 gets 20 all day long on the highway and if careful, about 22. Running a tune. The 15 Silvy 2wd CC gets 22 average with mixed driving easily. I've seen 25 on a tank in straight highway driving, no tune on it, yet.. Neither has seen less than 17 in about 300k of driving

What size tire do you have on the tahoe. That could be a thing might have to change the gears in the truck or get smaller tires
It came with 20s from the factory, got 22s a few years ago but its the same size as factory 22s. i have 20x10s sitting in the garage now.
