Hey everyone,

I had all new brake lines done to my tahoe and the other day i looked under and noticed an odd placement of one line I pasted pictures of where it was placed. Basically between the shock and and the damper. Is this something that i should point out to be redone, or am i over reacting. It just weird to have a brake line in-between a spring and a damper.

Based on the fact that they chose to hang the brake line with a wire tie alone would have me back at the shop demanding that they be secured with the correct hardware. In the last picture it looks like the line is very close to the spring, When that wire tie gets brittle and breaks that line will rub the spring and possibly wear a hole in the line.

I would inspect the rest of their work and go back and have them correct anything you find like the "work" in your pictures. I`m amazed that they let you leave with a brake line that close to any moving part.

I brought it over had him get under to look and he basically said thats not right and that he will fix it. He said the line was cut to short and I was like i know. He also said he will personally check the rest of the lines and take pictures for me. So I just have to setup a time with him to fix it.

I hope he apologized for it. I would be looking for a new mechanic if one let my vehicle leave their shop in that condition because it tells me that they don`t care about your safety.
