what serious upgrade would you do first?

Brakes are a good upgrade for all trucks from 00-06, whether you're going up or down. Stopping power is important.

what brand and set would you suggest is a quality upgrade from stock? and i love that grille you got on the truck. Ranch one right? i want one of those lol

Yeah Ranch hand, I really like it. I've seen a lot of guys just take used ones from GMT900 trucks.

First thing I did was lift it with new wheels and tires. Completely changes the look. The next 2 things I did was get a custom exhaust and new audio equipment (door speakers, head unit, subwoofers). In less than 2 weeks I'm going to get a custom tune from black bear performance. It's your truck but if you ask me I think the best 3 big mods would be, suspension whether it be lifted or lowered, exhaust, and a custom tune. And you'll have the small cheap mods in between, like color matching, demolding, debadging, headlights (could be cheap or expensive) and many other things I did that I can't remember.

Always suspension and tires first. You HAVE to have those two things working optimally for anything else to matter. no amount of stopping power, or engine power matters if you can't keep contact.
