I know its hard to believe but the aftermarket units are worth it. You open so many options. I would never buy an OEM navi that is so out of date with the maps unless you only drive in your own city or county. On top of way more bluetooth abilities, you give yourself other storage options, better screen.

Weaknesses of stock navi units:

1) outdated maps
2) low quality screens (dated for 2007 technology)
3) extremely limited bluetooth and usb abilities (if you lucky to have a 2009+)
4) inability to watch movies or do anything while driving
5) Limited dual zone capabilities

Most people buy additional adapters and such to help but for the 200-400 you will spend for half these options, you might as well get it done right the first time. Its not for everyone but I definitely benefited since I wanted all these options.

As someone that did the swap from a standard unit to an OEM navi unit, I wholeheartedly agree. But, it was what was in my budget and much better than what I started with, which was about all I was looking for. I knew exactly what I was getting, the limitations, downsides, etc., so I'm not disappointed. I'll get more (with an aftermarket unit) if/when the budget allows because there is surely room to upgrade!

Right, you are still winning. I sold my 11 Nav unit for 325 and I felt that was on the low side so you definitely got a steal and it definitely makes a big improvement with the look inside the car. Sometimes I miss the simpler setup of the OEM. Many would rather buy a car with stock navi over aftermarket just to know the car hasnt been tampered with.

This is true. More points for the OP to consider!

I'm very interested in the CS-GM1210-CA unit. In talking with Walt, he recommended a universal rear camera that is compatible with this Rosen. I don't like the look of the camera hanging above the license plate. Does anyone know of a compatible camera that would fit in the OEM hole on a 2011 Tahoe?

I know Walt sells a camera and handle for the pickup trucks that is just like the factory unit but with better resolution. He may have a similar unit for our trucks but I assume he would have mentioned that while you were talking to him.

Up here to the right
But, it kind of has to hang down like that, for the view. Im not sure any other kind would work, except for something on the license plate....i dont know......i guess u can drill a hole in the bumper or above the license plate.....

This is the camera Walt mentioned to me. He has this on his Tahoe. It's kinda cumbersome, hanging above his license plate. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01K4O80W...TF8&colid=3ISEPQPL19KEW&coliid=I1EB1P6CQJUB5X
I was looking for something a little more stealthy. Mostly need it for hooking up trailers by myself, but it would come in handy for the wife backing up in parking lots. She's the type that leaves a half a car length behind the truck, because she doesn't want to hi what's behind her.

You could always hit a salvage yard and get a stock unit and mounting hardware and wire it in.

I found this one. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01K4O809...TF8&colid=3ISEPQPL19KEW&coliid=I2KD4EWNMEWB8A

Walt has a video on the website that shows different models of the Rostra 300. This Eyeball unit looks like it will fit the bill. And, because Walt has used the Rostra 300 LBP with the CS-GM1210-CA, there shouldn't be nay compatibility issues. Besides, Amazon has it much cheaper.

The 1210 will be compatible with any backup can as long as the camera has an RCA out.

Where do you plan on mounting it?
