wierd whiney type noise

Ok another issue on my 99. Iys never ending lol. I noticed today that right after shutting my truck off i hear a kind of whiney sound from like the middle of the truck. Never heard it before till today. Any idea??

Fuel pump.

If the 99 Tahoe is like the 98, it has a loud fuel pump. You should have been hearing it all the time.

Although when they're going out, they get even louder.

One thing i noticed is its not all the time. Sometimes it whines some days it doesnt. Could it just be the fuel filter making it hard for the pump sometimes?

possibly. My best recommendation is to change the in line fuel filter thats between the tank and engine.. It located in the frame near the drivers area. Should take 20 minutes, and its fairly cheap.

The filter inside the tank is a pain in the ass. So if youre going that deep, just change the whole module.
