I don't know how they make it so you dont have to take the dash off but after completing the job this weekend. I will say it wasn't that bad. Taking the dash off is pretty straight forward and nowhere near as bad as most vehicles. The airbox assy. removal is just as easy. I replaced the heater core and A/C evap (thanks amazon) just to be safe and the parts were cheap. Sucks now cause everything works except the torso vent ( correct name? )
I'm looking to replace my leaking heater core in my 2007 Tahoe. Dash is mostly apart but I'm not sure how to continue to remove the heater box for access to the heater core. Does anyone out there have instructions, a link, or video?

This weekend I am going to replace my blend door because the tab where the 2 springs connect to the other two flaps broke. Wondering do I really need to remove the dash? Can I just take off the bottom of the housing?

Did you figure out how to change the door without removing the dash?

I have done a couple of these now because the seals on all of the doors dry rot and fall off, and then the conditioned air leaks out the wrong vents regardless of what position the knob is placed.

The dash needs to be pulled to get the HVAC case out of the truck, and then the HVAC case comes apart to replace the doors. Make sure you have purchased all 3 new doors, as there is a good chance they will all be dry rotted, but you will not know until you get it apart.
