2wd to 4x4

I have two 02 Tahoes one is Rwd the other is 4x4 with no Engine. Has anyone converted 2wd to 4x4? Ant thoughts on conversion would be appreciated

It can be done, but most find it is not worth the hassle. The hardest parts are welding the front diff mounts to the frame, and retrofitting the wiring and controllers for the transfer case. Since you basically have a parts vehicle it might not be that bad, but would probably be easier to put the engine from the rwd truck into the 4x4 as long as there aren't too many other issues with the 4x4 truck.

Might as well just put a motor in the 4wd one and call it a day. Much better solution than trying to convert a 2wd over IMO

Sell the 4x4 with no engine, put the money from that towards an SAS conversion. You can basically set your front height wherever you want it by dialing in the springs, just make sure the gearing in the solid axle is correct for whatever size tire you'll end up with. Then, regear the rearend to match.

Just don't do some crap like stretching 35x12.50x24's on some 24x16 wheels.... 40x14.50's on 20 x 12's would look sick.
