As some of you may have seen, I put some Denali projectors (that look like OE copies) from Headlights Depo on Amazon on my 2000 GMC Yukon XL.
The box is branded Perde, and the lens is branded TYC.

Tonight I had a foggy drive home from class, and the projectors seemed to preform pretty well.
The sharp cutoff of the beam helped me see the road better than I expected it would, and I don't believe fog lights would have been much use at all. I could see better than I would have, if I'd been driving the '04 Monte Carlo.

Here you can see the sharp cut off in the fog. The glare from the headlights does not exist in reality.

In person they look much closer to this, but just a bit brighter.:

(please ignore the road grime on the lens!)

One interesting thing I have found about the Denali headlights, is their lack of side to side adjustment.
They can only be adjusted up and down.

They have a good cutoff that keeps the lights below most car and truck rear windows, along with windshields and side windows.

As you drive down the road, you will notice that the lights tend to leave the oncoming lane mostly dark, with a very minimal spill, that is useful for seeing the ditch and people on the left side.

Here is a shot (with the truck too close) of their low beam pattern on my garage wall.

Seeing I only paid $97 for these headlights, I feel I got more than what I paid for.

So I bought a cheap set of 5000K 35W HID lights to put in my projectors: http://a.co/bxFKv5m
I thought I'd check them out tonight to see if the projected pattern changed at all with the HID bulbs.

Turns out the pattern didn't change one bit.
Seems I won the lottery with both these HIDs and the projectors.

The light looks almost LED white. I was going for the OEM color temp, and I think I got pretty close. I probably should have gotten the 4300K, but oh well.

I've read on here about people having trouble with their HIDs flickering without using a relay kit (and I ordered one), but I was doing some reading, and my Yukon uses a 15 amp fuse for each side.
The ballasts for the HID are rated at 10 amps max, and about 3.2 amps nominal. My 65W high beams use 5.4 amps.
If I do the 4-hi mod, I still won't be in danger of blowing the fuse, because it won't be striking the HIDs while the high beams are on.
If I have trouble, I'll just replace the fuses and install the relay kit.

I should have time to install them on Monday, and I'll be taking pictures and posting them here.

So I had my photos all ready to go on my old smartphone (that had manual mode for the camera) and I went to download them on to my computer, and they were all corrupt.

I got the new lights installed, and they definitely are bluer than the stock lights. By themselves they look nice and white (much like LED bulbs look), but If I had it to do over again, I'd buy the 4300K bulbs. I went for a foggy drive out to my local Manards and checked the aim of the lights, and didn't have to adjust them at all.
They definitely look brighter than the 9005s, but that could just be because they are "bluer" than the 9005 lights.

So here is what they looked like before:

And this is what they look like now:

Yes I just adjusted the color temp of the first picture to get "after" picture.

On the drivers side light, I had to move the hoses for the windshield washer, as they were in the way of the wires on the HID bulb.
On the plus side, I learned the trick to getting the rods back in on the passenger side headlight. :chewie:
