I want to put constant power to my cigarette lighter type charging ports so the damn truck doesn't have to be on for them to work.

I found this PDF of dash removal instructions.

The cup holder area, they say to "unsnap and remove center console" as if that's a simple thing to do. I've tried and I can't get it it unsnap anywhere except at the very back. I know there are 2 snaps at the very back, 2 just forward of the cup holders and 2 more at the very front but it feels like the entire damned thing is going to snap in half trying to get the middle ones by the cup holders to release.

Any tips?

I had been able to get the back to pop up on previous attempts. It was the center clips I could not get to release for fear of braking them so I was not able to attempt the front ones.

ok, dumb Q...but I read somewhere that you could move fuses around in the fuse box to give constant power instead of Acc Power to the new trucks?

i searched alot this morning in the PDF's of the wiring (has a description of how things work) but did not see anything.
is it in the owners manual?

the NNBS had constant power, seems the newer "better" trucks would?

Good point, busterw... once you pull straight up on the back end of the console, pulling the middle clips straight up as well, you'll then want pull the whole console straight back towards the rear of the vehicle. There are three or four clips the face straight forward.

It's feels kinda weird grabbing the console and ripping it out like you have to, but I've pulled mine out at least a dozen times with no issues. The metal clips are pretty decent quality and snap right back into place with no rattles.
