When searching here recently for opinions and install tips on the Putco Nite-Lux LED's as replacements for the OEM foglights on my '16 Tahoe LTZ, I found very little information about them, so I thought I'd share a few pics of the install I did tonight. My first impressions of these lights, even before I installed them, is that they are very solid and well built. They are kind of pricey ($157 on Amazon) compared to other LED bulbs I was considering, but they really do have a quality look and feel to them. Even the plastic material that the base and ballast is made of feels higher quality than what I expected. Not hard and brittle like the VLED bulbs I've bought in the past for my '14 GMC Sierra. I still think my VLEDs were a decent deal for the price, but the bulb bases were just a bit "off" from the stock bulbs and were very difficult to install. (I still have one that refuses to snap in properly resulting in moisture and fogging inside the housing). Another plus (assuming they last) is that these Putco's use a folded copper cloth as a heat-sink instead of needing fans. Only time will tell, but I like the idea of no cooling fans.

I didn't have a chance to give them a real test drive or take good night time pics yet, but the output while parked inside my garage seems amazing. The swap was very simple after removing 4 - 7mm and 2 - 10mm screws which allowed the fenderwell liner to be pulled back a few inches to gain access to the back of the foglight housings.

Exactly what I am looking for! Question... are your fog lenses flush and up/tight to the front bumper/chrome plastic bezel or is there a little space there? I installed tow hooks and noticed mine had a little gap. Almost as if the fog lights "float" a little behind the bumper and not up tight against it. My concern is when traveling up north in the winter and Ice building up in there.

Thoughts?

Im going to order these LEDs today!

$157? Wow! I wonder (difference) some bulbs are just $30 to $40...

Sorry, but I'm not sure how the fog light lenses fit in relation to the bumper. The new Tahoe is my wife's vehicle, and I'm out of town so it'll be a few days before I can take a look.

Yeah, I agree the price is steep. They have a ballast built in to the wiring harness, and the copper cloth heat sinks design is cool. That alone makes them way different than a standard LED bulb swap like the VLEDs.
But, I drove it in the dark Saturday night and they are VERY bright. Night and day difference in visibility when they are on compared to off. I also watched my wife drive up our street with them on and it made me question if I should be driving in city traffic within on. They are that bright compared to the stock bulbs. They are going to be awesome for highway or rural driving at night though.
