So... what type of gas mileage do each of the engines get?

Agree with "mikec422; would like to see the mileage reports from owners driving in the real world compiled into a single document. government numbers have seemed close to reality, some of the latest hi numbers I seriously question?
been driving suburban/yukon xl since 1972. currently driving my last yukon xl from work years.
2005 yukon xl 2500 4X4 6.0l engine 80K miles. 11.5 city/ 16 highway, 13 combo - real world numbers.
Generally reliable truck - has the AC actuator problems and the chronic electric engage 4whl problem. If I had to rely on 4 whl drive regularly, would not own a GMC, and this is my 4th (yes - I am a glutton for punishment (for many of my years, GMC was the only choice if you wanted a enclosed body large suv).

2008 Yukon Denali 6.2 L with 20 inch Bridgestone Dueler Tires inflated to 36 psi all the way around driving flat on non-windy day with no precip., 50 degrees outside (no heater or air conditioner on), 19-20 HWY, 14 backroads, 12 stop/go in city. As others have mentioned, there are so many factors that influence fuel economy that these comments must be kept in perspective. My friend just changed out his spark plugs at 100K and claims to have added 1-2 mpg back in fuel economy. Cleaning fuel injectors could also help depending on type of gas used, higher milage etc. My vehicle is listed at 12 mpg city / 18 hwy, so I feel that my personal experience on average is consistent with my vehicle's rating.
Obviously the MPG ratings at the EPA are a baseline, but I would not trust them, I know that some are off, most are reasonably close. I have had cars that said they should be getting 19 on the highway in my 05 Rainier V8 but get as high as 22 on rare occasion, but most of the time I get lower than what is reported, I am supposed to get 21 in my 07 Tahoe but really the best I have ever gotten was 18.
One of the problems is most people do not drive the same as the test drivers. Another problem is starting around 2007 the EPA mandated 10% ethanol, and at the same time they reduced the mpg of cars by 2mpg. The EPA said it was to better reflect real world driving, but in reality it was because ethanol kills mpg.

Real world around town with AC running, and stop and go traffic, I get about 16-17mpg. If I do more driving on the highway or interstate (unless I'm much over 75mph) I get closer to 18-19mpg. Stock size tires, no lift. Run Mobil 0w-30 and Have a K&N filter

This is my 2015 Denali XL. It has always been amazing for mileage on the highway. We are at 4300 feet elevation and the power is great as well. My wife and I make a 90 mile trip about once a month and the goal is to go the speed limit, but get the best mileage possible to readout on the 50 mile average. So far she has the record at 32.8 mpg. I have clocked over 31 mpg but she still has the best so far. When a vehicle of this size and capability is able to do something like this, it makes me wonder why we have been dealing with poor gas mileage for so long. The picture above was just what I did the first time and sent it to her to show I beat her best at the time.

Our 2016 Tahoe LTZ with 4wd and 3.08 rear axle ratio has just over 12K miles. The overall mileage is 20.5. On a recent trip to WY on the leg from here to Moab, UT, we averaged just over 23 mpg.

My 05 Denali with the 6.0 best average on flat ground. I cruise at 60-70 on the freeway most of the time. Dips in a bit with city driving. I'm about due for a oil change soon and will be trying royal purple hi mileage.
