If you install new pads and rotors do you still need to break them in anymore? I just brake easy for 50 miles or so?

I think it is. Easy driving just to bed them in. Once I burned up a set of front pads in like 2,000 miles , was in my Formula bird. Different beast but I think same idea. In the beginning, nice n easy .

Some manufactures vary on how they suggest you bed in your brakes. My R-1 rotors said to get up to 55-60 mph and hit the brakes moderately hard down to 15 mph and repeat that around 3-4 times if i remember correctly. I have also has rotors that said just to avoid aggressive braking for the first 5-700 miles and to take it easy for that time period.

Check the boxes to see if there was any instructions on how they want it done.

I have a coworker that goes thru brakes constantly. He has no clue what bedding brakes is even after I told him. I always bed them in like r1 concepts recommends. I drive the hell out of my tahoe and he drives his avalanche like granpa and i get 3x the brake life he does.

I think it critical to get that heat in them early to mate everything properly, make them stink and make sure you don't come to a complete stop while doing it to avoid hot spottimg the rotors. I'm sure you'll get different opinions on this depending on the manufacturer.
