1997 GMC Yukon to 1999 Denali Conversion

Ok, so I recently needed some parts for my 1997 Yukon that I have owned for quite a few years now. So after digging through junkyards and finding nothing, I finally resorted to Craigslist to see what I could find. I stumbled across a 1999 GMC Denali that the owner was parting out due to the frame rusting out - but the body looked flawless!!! SO, I bought everything he had - entire clean interior, front clip, all 6 rust-free doors, bumpers, etc... Pretty much everything to convert the ole Yukon into a Denali look-a-like!!! I have always liked the auto 4x4 setting on these, but I am being told that there is NO WAY to make this 1999 transfer case work in my 1997 Yukon. I was assuming it would just be different wiring, but I am being told that the auto part runs off of sensors that my 1997 does not have. Normally I trust the person telling me, but he is also trying to buy this T-case for a customer of his and make a couple of bucks. Can anyone tell me, is there a way to put the 1999 Denali T-case in the 1997 Yukon?? Yukon does not have the auto feature. And if so, how do I do it??? Any help is appreciated!!!

My 99 has auto 4x4...a 97 doesn't?

No, in 1997 it had a very similar switch, but no options for the auto transfer case. I think that started in 1998, lol

Why do you need auto anyways? I live in canada and never use it. Sell it and make some money back

This is a complete project - the entire suspension is new - will have a new powerplant (LS or LQ, haven't decided yet) trans I bought will be beefed up, figured easier to have something rebuilt out of truck then it would be to put the truck down while builders are getting ready. And I could use it from time to time, roads around here get a lot of drifts and I hate the delay to switch if needed!! Does anyone know for sure??
