I just picked up my 16 Denali and started to order LED fogs, but noticed that the DRL and the HID color temps don't quite match. I'd like to look into getting them to match before I order fogs to match. It seems like the stock HID color might be just a tiny bit yellow compared to the DRLs. Anyone have any experience on getting them all to match well?

I went with Morimoto 6500k HIDs for the headlights (low beam) and 6000k LED fog lights from VLEDs. Not a perfect match, but close enough and much better than factory. DRLs are about 5500k, I believe.

So you would say the fogs are just a hint bluer than the DRLs and the Morimotos slightly bluer than that?

Yes. I would say the fogs are noticeably bluer than the DRLs. The HIDs and the fogs are pretty close to one another.

You are absolutely correct, the stock HIDs are 4300K, which makes them a little bit more yellow compared to LEDs. The DRL are 5000K, the bright white color. Not sure if you would be able to replace the stock HID to aftermarket in order to get the 5000K color. I personally just replaced the Fog lights for a 5000K bulb and it looks fine since depending where you are the headlight color changes slightly.

So, has anyone swapped out their stock 4300K HID bulbs for an aftermarket bulb? I cannot figure out from any of the above posts if anyone has changed out just the stock HID bulbs. I have no interest in changing to a complete aftermarket HID system, but would consider changing bulbs to achieve a whiter color. Thanks.

Okay so unfortunately I believe that Chevrolet has made it so that if the bulb goes out, you have to go to a dealership to replace it. This would mean you may have to replace the whole HID set up with an aftermarket. I have not actually looked inside of the headlight casing to see if this is true or not. So i recommend taking a look and weeing if you are able to replace tbe bulb. hope this helps. let me know if you have any more questions.

I swapped out my Denali HID bulbs for aftermarket. The bulbs are a strange size so very limited options. D3s if I recall. They're a bit weird on how they fit but they match against my led fogs.

The passenger side I had to remove the air box to get to the bulbs.
