Try to make this long story short. One of my little boys lost a set of my keys couple months ago no big deal because I had another set. Went on a weekend trip brought the truck keys with me but not the truck. Haven't found my keys yet pretty sure they are at a hotel or my boys took him again. Has anyone been through the process to get new keys made for your truck? I have a 2003 Denali.

I went through this before. I reportedly have heard that most order them on eBay, but I needed mine the same day. I took my registration to the dealership and had them make me a new key and fob for about 35 a piece.

I heard dealers can cut you a key using your vin. Of course you need to show proof of ownership. Not sure on the price, but if you have time definitely shop around. The differences in prices between dealers is crazy sometimes!

I had 2 blank keys cause I planned on making copies in case a event like this ever happebed. Dropped the ball on that. Took it to the dealership with the title and they were done in about 10 min. And $102 later. Got the 2nd key cut at ace hardware. For free.

Do these trucks have the "smart keys" that need to be programmed? I didn't think so but I'm not sure.

Mine is a 2003 denali no chip or laser cut. Should be that way up to a 2006. Key fobs were pretty quick to program too

Yea from day one I walked up to my little boy with keys and double fingers to the ribs ZAP Danger. 19 months and he gives 2 ***** about keys. But he wants them in the ignition so the steering is unlocked so he can drive. Also we have SQUARE on our keys to find.

I keep my keys minimal. Just the key and fob. My boy in the time I changed the oil and a the wipers hid them like a pot of gold. Ripped my garage and car apart. Pretty sure he will give them to me when he turns 18. Would've been a lot worse if I didn't have the title.

Yes dealer can get them with proof of ownership ,as for the remotes buy those off eBay and program them yourself way way cheaper

You're lucky. I paid $150 for 2 keys. No programming. Just cut keys with the Plastic GMC logo end. I was told they were "programmed" hence the cost. I should have just walked away but I didn't know any better and not having a spare key was my fault.

So this happened.
