Vortec headed 383

Semi-new to the forum. My 96 2 door has a motor of questionable quality (tbi/vortec mash up). I've looked into building routes but as I've stated I do not want to gather parts when I don't even know what I have to start with. That leaves me with crate motor options. To get to the meat of my question, can you bolt on the stock L31 intake on any motor that has vortec heads? Like a 355/383 long block. Thanks

As bolting up goes as long as the engine has vortec heads the vortec intake will match up with the bolt holes on the heads.

Thanks for the response, I emailed a few suppliers but they were uncertain of their own products. Like blueprint motors usually only builds carb engines but they offer several motors with vortec heads. So the thinking is to get a budget stomper and reuse as much as I can from my vortec (intake, fuel injection, etc)

You could easily build your engine. You said it's a TBI/vortec mash up the main differences in the TBI vs. vortec is of course the fuel injection the vortec heads and the vortec engine was a roller camshaft engine with hydraulic roller lifters some TBI engines came this way also but I believe most were hydraulic flat tappet engines. Otherwise the block is the same.
