20" to 22" Wheels...

Anyone make a switch? Looking at going from the stock 20"s on my Yukon XL to 22" Denali Wheels and was wondering if there is a major degradation in ride (understanding that tires play a major role as well, would be moving to 22" Michelin Premier LTX).

My 22s are rough. Keep your 20s just in case.

I'm planning to go the opposite way - 22s to 20s. I have Bridgestone Alenzas, highway tires, and yes, the ride is rough.

Bah nonsense. I go from 17 from winter snow tires to 22 summer tires every season. It's not enough for me to hate them. I'm lowered and I drive all over ****** New England pothole roads

The difference is minimal. However, on my 15 I switched from those OE stones to Michelin LTX Defender tires and it was night and day difference.

I just went from 305/30/26 to 275/60/20 and I can't wait to go back to 26s... The wider tires grips the road better on turns. They go over train tracks better. I go over slow with both sets. The wider tire just feels better. the ride is alittle bit worse but not a whole lot. 305/30/26 have 4" of side wall. Plenty for a decent ride.

But I don't have a 15+ I'm poor in a 2002. Just seen this was the 15+ section

Don't get me wrong, I was pretty impressed with the ride even with the 22s. Believe it or not, my Suburban on 22s and Bridgestones rides smoother than my last half ton, a Nissan Armada, on 17s. It first had Nitto highway tires, then I swapped them out for Mickey Thompson A/Ts, and the Suburban rides better than either combination.

The 22s are perfect for highway cruising and handle well. But when you get on a cracked road, they'll let you know they're there.

are we talking about a 15+ truck as they ride totally different when comparing. As most already know, the 15+ have a much firmer chassis compared to the previous generation.

If I had 22s I'd get a 305/40/22 or 305/45/22 tire size. Because 285/45/22 is just to small of a tire for a big suv, at least that's what I feels like to me.
