I thought that the denali had auto ride only in the back. Why does it look like there are sensors on the front shocks as well?

Do they hook into the struts or are they just clipped to it? Could be the abs speed sensor wire you're looking at

There are electronic front shocks. They do not have air bags like the rear.

^^ Yep, magnetic damping fronts. They don't adjust height, just the damping rate. If you change to regular shocks up there you need to add resistors or spoofing modules to fool the system or you'll get the dreaded "service ride control" message.

FYI on my 2003 I just removed the relay with the battery unplugged. No resistors or modules on my Nali and I am running standard shocks with no service ride control error.
