Got the light green wire in the ds A pillar, which is supposed to be the reverse wire. Put it in reverse and probed it for power, trying to get the signal for the cam, nothing. Tried a few times and still nothing. Am I missing something here? When you're in reverse isn't it supposed to get hot?IMAG0108.jpgIMAG0108.jpg

Good morning Tony. I believe that's a negative trigger. I know the point at the body control module for the reverse lights is a negative trigger.

Ahhh, a fellow Jerseyan! Good morning David. I did get the signal from that wire, but I'm not getting a video from the cam itself. Everything looked like it was plugged in properly, but it was just too hot to keep going. My mirror said it was 107, remember how hot it was yesterday? It did work before tho. I was getting the signal from the reverse light before, at the light itself.

Did you ever get this going?

I just bought a back up camera, and will be installing in the next week. Is the light green wire hot when the backup lights are on? I am trying to prevent running a new wire from the tail lights to the back of my radio. Don't want to run more than I have to.

My mistake. Yes, key can be in run position only while in reverse and the reverse lights do come on.
Ok, so this would be a good signal wire to go to the camera and radio.

I have seen some people wire them so that they are always on, and you just select camera on your radio to show what is behind you. I would rather it come on automatically when I put it in reverse.

Is yours a tag mounted camera?

I wired mine this way,...I had the option of doing either way,...but I thought there may be times when I want to see whats behind me without putting it in reverse. For example,..some ***** was trying to squeeze into a space behind me while I waited on line at the train st,... I pushed the cam button to watch her! lol.

The camera that I bought has 4 LED lights built in to it, so if it is always on, the lights will always be on. That is pretty much the only reason that I only want it on when in reverse.
