Hi All,

A mechanic indicated that I should replace my radiator hoses as they are swelled(photos). I'm about to head on a long trip(5 hr drive each way) and money is tight so I'd like to get confirmation if this repair is really needed before my trip. Basically I'm looking for a second opinion on this. Any feedback you have would be greatly appreciated.

If it looks like this I'd be worried.
Btw, this wouldn't happen to be your mechanic is it?

That looks normal to me to be honest . I don't see any issues with cracking or dry rot you should be ok.

I was at the dealer having something els done and asked them to change the coolant and hoses due to mileage (130k at the time). He said that hose material and Dexcool have come a long way and I should wait to about 150k. I'm good with that. Your hoses look about the same as mine. What I'm more stunned about was that the dealer didn't want to take my money. Lol oh darn.
