    98 2 door tahoe 4x4 in sand

I'm a few months late, but it performed GREAT in the sand. I aired down to about 9 lbs/tire. The only time that I had to use reverse was to back out of my spot near the beach. I climbed the biggest and first hill (named "Test hill") in 1st gear @5k rpm without issue. In fact, I misjudged the...

My 1998 2-door build is done - Pics, impressions (and need some input)

I do have a scanner, but not with me. I do have one of the Bluetooth OBD2 things that I could check it with. I paid the extra money for all of the extra PIDs. So, that would just be the engine temperature, correct?

My 1998 2-door build is done - Pics, impressions (and need some input)

I have a 97 2 door 4x4 with a mild build vortec 350 (CC 08-501-8 cam with supporting head work), OBX stainless headers, 3" true duals, a BB tune, and "built" 4l60e, and I'm experiencing what I think is a smiliar trans issues as you. However, I went from 3.42 to 4.10 gears front and rear. I also...

Accessing roof rack holes from inside vehicle...

I got a chance to do the front two last night. SUPER pain in the ass compared to the rears. Most of the issues were because I didn't drop the headliner, and the trim. I only took the trim piece that goes from the windshield to the panel where the seat belt bolts to off, and I took the seat belt...

    98 2 door tahoe 4x4 in sand

I plan on taking my Tahoe to our annual family camping trip this weekend, and there are sand dunes about 30 minutes away from where we are staying. I am planning on taking my 2 door there, but I would like to know what to expect. It has a mild build 350 vortec, cranked keys (just a little)...

Accessing roof rack holes from inside vehicle...

Since somebody is interested, I will provide an update. I got the rears done. I ended up bending pieces of 2" wide steel into "U" shape to fit over the corner pieces of the rack. Then, I used regular hex head grade 8 3/8" bolts and threaded them into the plate that I made. I did weld lock nuts...

Accessing roof rack holes from inside vehicle...

Just in case anyone else stumbles upon this thread.... I got the chance to peek under the rear of the headliner today. I can easily fit 2" flat stock through the hole that is in the corners of where the roof bends down to the rear/side. My plan is to drill 2 holes in the flat stock that match...

Accessing roof rack holes from inside vehicle...

Ahh damn. I actually JUST bought the corner piecr today from a guy in a Facebook group. Thank you, though. Also, is it double walled the entire width and length for the roof? Or just along the corners where the sides meet the roof? I did see a few pics on Google images but there wasn't...

Accessing roof rack holes from inside vehicle...

Anyone? I've tried to google, and have found a few pictures, but nothing really up close of the spot directly under the holes. I need to come up with a solution for this, hopefully a permanent, structurally solid one.

Accessing roof rack holes from inside vehicle...

Hey all. I have a 97 2 door Tahoe. Long story short, my kayack ripped the bolts out of the roof on the driver's rear bracket. I lost the bracket, and am now left with two gaping holes. At first, I was just going to buy the rubber well nuts for the rear one, buy a replacement, and put it back...

    Subwoofer advice

There are a ton of "underground," or lesser-known brands out now that can be had for cheaper and perform better than the big brands. I'd head over to http://store.soundsolutionsaudio.com/ and check out what they have. You should be able to get a nice 12" or 15" around 2000-3000 watts and run it...

That's exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!

    140amp alt vs 105

Hey all, I currently have the 105 amp alternator on my 2 door 97 tahoe. Is the 140 a plug and play, or is the housing larger? Looking for a higher amperage for stereo, but I don't want to spend $300+. 35 extra amps should do the trick.

    Cylinder 2 and 4 misfire

I do have dash command already, where would I find the misfire parameters? Would I find them in the list of available PIDs and add them? As far as the CEL, I initially thought everything was good, but as it turns out, the bulb is either burned out or it's disconnected. When I was checking the...
