    Budgeting for a paint job

I had my "03 Tahoe painted about a year ago. I removed all trim, bumpers, lights, badges (left them off), etc. Total was around $6K. See the link below for work in progress and pics. https://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/new-to-forum-fixing-up-my-03-tahoe.131033/

    2002 Tahoe LT 2wd

Welcome to the forum. I recently finished a complete steering and suspension (except springs and torsion bars) restoration on my 2003 Tahoe which has 160 K miles and the ZW7 Premium Smooth Ride option. My steering was getting really loose and one of my rear shocks (Nivomats) was leaking. I...

OE Shocks for my 2004 Tahoe

I recently finished a complete steering and suspension (except springs and torsion bars) restoration on my 2003 Tahoe which has 160 K miles and the ZW7 Premium Smooth Ride option. My steering was getting really loose and one of my rear shocks (Nivomats) was leaking. I replaced both with...

GMT800 Loose Steering Fix No One Has Mentioned here or Net - Ten Minutes, NO $$$

Thanks a bunch for sharing. I just did a complete steering and suspension job. It's much better, but I still have a little slop between the steering wheel and the steering gear even with a relatively new intermediate shaft. This may be the reason. I will be doing this soon and will update...

Lil’ Help - Question About ZW7 Code and Suspension Upgrade

Coincidently I just finished my parts order ($2K) for a complete steering & suspension rebuild on my 2003 Tahoe with 160K miles and a G65/ZW7 suspension. I had loose steering from an aging steering gear & other worn parts. I also has a leaking Nivomat. After a good bit of research, I decided...

It's painted and back together! I'm pretty happy. Every exterior light has been replaced down to tag lights. Next, will be some inside improvements like a head unit with back up camera and car play.

My “new” 05 - updates, upgrades and service plans

Welcome to the Forum. I have just begun a restoration of my '03 Tahoe. I'm starting with a paint job, but planning to continue with interior next. I will be following yours for updates. One thing to suggest. Check your roof for rust under the roof rack mounts. If I had not been getting the...

I visited the shop today and asked about the epoxy application. They are planning on applying epoxy to the entire roof. Thanks for asking and prompting me to check.

Took some pics at the body shop. Notice the tan spots on the roof (1st pic). It's not flaky rust like the ones on the surface. They said it's imbeded rust in the metal. They will probably bubble up in the future. It may take 1 year or may last 10 years. Options - 1. Chase all of them...

Replaced the grill bow tie with a metal one from Amazon. The original one is contoured and the new one is flat, but fits in the recess just fine. (old & installed new one in pic) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000EPODIG?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details

D Pillar Trim Found a set of black Escalade D Pillar Trim pieces on eBay. They were in good shape with all the clips in place. The clear coat was starting to peel near the edges so I took them to the paint shop to have repainted when they paint the Tahoe. (pic)

All parts removed and it's at the Paint shop. Since we were wondering about the shop quality at $6K cost, I asked the owner about the process. He said they fix all rust, dents, and scratches then prime all bare metal. The primed areas and the rest of the "good" paint is sanded before...
