    its official, starting to throw a rod probably. bearing is out on one of the pistons on the bottom. next question, i can get a great deal on an 09 avalanche or 08 suburban, both are in great shape, just over 100,000 miles. 5.3 with DOD/AFM which I would delete. thoughts???

    I have heard that so many times too. Only real difference is the level of corrosiveness. its less with dexcool, so its easier on the aluminum parts. thats all that i could find on the topic. anyone else hear anything to support/confirm or to add to the reasons why Dexcool is recommended?
