2001 Chevy Tahoe dash pad options?

I replaced my dash pad with a used one, but the used one had a couple broken tabs. Does anyone make any aftermarket options for the whole dash pad? Anyone know where I can get a new OEM one? Thanks!

Yukon Grizzly Locker or Eaton Detroit Locker? What's better?

So the time has come for me to gear my 2001 2WD Tahoe LT & I want to replace the operational G80 with either the Yukon Grizzly Locker or the Eaton Detroit Locker. I will be going with 4.56's or 4.88's. I run a 31.65" tire & I will be towing EVERYDAY. What locker is better & why?

Lower control arm nut fell off?!?!

They were installed with washers & torqued to 107 ft. lb by me. After that I went directly to alignment shop. Alignment shop claims "Not me!". I can't see how that could happen. GM service manual says 107 ft. lb, btw. It has to be the alignment shop...

Lower control arm nut fell off?!?!

Has this ever happened to anybody before? I got under the Tahoe today to find that the nut had fallen off of the front passenger lower control arm bolt! I did have it in a shop (unsupervised) about 2 months ago. I'm gonna get new hardware tomorrow, but this scares me.

Has anyone ever replaced the "Torsion Bar Insulator" or Torsion Bar Bushing?

Has anyone ever replaced the torsion bar insulator? It is GM Part #: 20829013. The Service Manual says that it should be pressed out with a "bushing press". Can anyone give me some direction on this? I would like to do it myself, but I don't have a bushing press. I might be able to borrow one...

    Air ride shocks?

I purchased Monroe Part #: 90012. I have only had them on for less than a month, but I like them so far. It converts the electronic ride control shocks in the front to traditional shocks. It does the same for the rear except that it keeps the airbag load leveling feature as long as your...

I need help with the Autoride...2001 Tahoe LT...

I just realized that I didn't actually ask a question. :Insane: My question is this: Is that just how these vehicles ride? Kinda soft and floating like? How will I know when these components are worn are in need of replacing? Are there any options on firming the ride up? Thanks! :)

I need help with the Autoride...2001 Tahoe LT...

My Autoride equipped 2001 Tahoe LT rides as if the shocks need replacing. You know how a vehicle floats and wobbles when it needs to have the shocks/struts replaced? It rides like that. Anyways...I have no Service Autoride Message and when I first start the vehicle or turn the ignition to...

2001 Tahoe Message Center backlighting ?'s...

The problem was a bad connection inside the LCD display itself. I took apart the whole cluster to get to it. There is a ribbon that connects to it. That was the culprit!

2001 Tahoe Message Center backlighting ?'s...

The orange backlighting in the message center of my 2001 Tahoe seems to be out. I can read the word "SECURITY" when I lock the doors but I don't get the orange backlighting. The red backlighting works just fine. The LCD screen seems to be working fine too. It is just the orange backlighting...

Oil pressure sending unit / switch ?'s...

My 2001 Tahoe will not register ANY oil pressure at all on the instrument cluster. The engine sounds perfectly healthy, except for the cold start up piston slap which is normal. I am guessing it is the sensor / switch that has gone bad because when I disconnect the signal wire my oil pressure...

Gauge cluster rebuilding service for a 2001 Tahoe LT...

Never mind. My cluster does not need rebuilding. It is perfectly fine. Apparently the previous owner disconnected the harness for the Message Center & used electric tape to cover the dummy lights. :jawdrop: At least I knew the problems were there by using my scan tool. Knock sensor & ABS module...

Gauge cluster rebuilding service for a 2001 Tahoe LT...

Who does the most complete gauge cluster rebuild for a 2001 Tahoe? My message center is inoperable, my check engine & abs lights are dim and when I use the right turn signal the dummy light right next to it lights up when the indicator light does. The gauges work fine though. Lol.

?'s on replacing the OEM keyless entry/alarm with aftermarket....

Wow! Here I am thinking that Viper made good alarms. Where is the the best (cheapest) place to get the replacement key fobs?

?'s on replacing the OEM keyless entry/alarm with aftermarket....

I recently purchased a 2001 Tahoe LT & the previous owner only gave me one broken, useless key fob. Rather than spending the money on replacement key fobs, I would like to just install a good aftermarket alarm. What are my options when doing this? Should I just get the key fobs and leave well...
