The key thing you said is "I don't think it is different model to model". If the OP puts down all the vehicle info, the guesswork disappears. 35+ years in the business, taught me that having too much info is better than not enough info.

I had no choice. The bolts are trapped in the hub with no hole to reach a socket in. Ain't no way those 4 bolts will not be tight when it leaves my driveway.
Got back to the 2008 4Runner today and did the d/s axle and hub, front rotors, front calipers, new pads and hardware and bled it all out. Stops smooth and no pulsations.

"On rear of engine"? The transmission is "on" the rear of the engine. Something from above, intake or oil sender, could be leaking. Numerous items on the sides have been named. Right now you have seepage, or you would be seeing drops on ground. Time to clean and inspect and post pics.
