not an option. you'll need a proper lift with aftermarket steering knuckle and lower control arm relocation brackets. most of these lifts are at least 4" of lift.
other solution is to de-crank your torsion bars and reduce the amount of lift you have in the front.
I’ve actually got an 06 suburban 2500 with those extra controls.
Feel free to try my vin
I also have a VCXnano that can do tech2 emulation. It’s a little tricky to set them up and you probably want to use it in a VM (slightly sketchy Chinese software lol) but can’t beat it for $120
VXDIAG...
I've been obsessed with suburban 2500's for over 10 years and i didn't even know these had dual tanks LOL. Definitely seems like it was a bit of an afterthought with the tank being crammed above the spare tire. But with the MPG's these things get it was definitely needed. 27 vs 38 gallons is a...
I'm really considering doing this. But there's a couple issues with it.
The original cats in this truck are effectively gutted, leaving none of the valuable recyclable catalyst material. So it only has worth as scrap metal. They could have been worth $400 each in a core return but since the...
Made some progress stripping out the back of this thing. There is thick dirt EVERYWHERE.
Its going to be a real nightmare tearing down the rear AC for cleaning. But, i'll be happy i did with how dirty this thing is..
Also, for those who got stumped like me removing the passenger side 2nd row...
I went ahead and splurged on some nice JBA ceramic coated short tube headers! Passenger side original exhaust manifold has a stripped bolt where it bolts to the cats so i figured might as well.
I had previously removed the passenger size exhaust manifold and found that the missing bolts were...
So this weekend was certainly... interesting..
to start, i went underneath the vehicle to remove some duct tape. Found this in the aux tank fuel filler hose
I'm assuming the previous owner was using all this to block off the hose... just seemed really random.. But it looks like i'll need...
more updates!
Got the aux fuel tank cleaned up and a new fuel sending unit in.
There's two connections inside the fuel tank
The small one is unfortunately missing a small fitting. It came with some extra hoses but it looks like this blue clip is 3/8 and i need a 5/16. Amazon should have...
Quick update:
Made a fun 500+ mile drive today to pick up this!
It's a little dirty, but this is the replacement auxiliary fuel tank! (the one that came in my truck was lovingly "deleted" by the previous owner for unknown reasons...)
Tried to find a new one, but it was basically unavailable...
I told myself i wasn't going to do any big mods on this Tahoe. That lasted about 3 years until i couldn't ignore the itch any more. First i lowered the Tahoe with a 2/3 drop. Didn't like the ride so i lifted it to 5" on 33's. As much as i wish i would have done a cognito 7" with fox coilovers...
Do you have any pictures of where the rear track bar mounts to the axle? the bracket that re-locates that mount needs to be 1000% solid. If it can move, it will make the truck very unstable.
I'm planning on having mine welded into place soon as the bolts keep getting loose. I've got a 5" RC (it...
a friend of mine did it in his 01 Tahoe. This is a massive job with tons of custom fabrication. if you don't own a shop and have years of experience in diesel engines and custom engine/drivetrain controllers, you're only option is super deep pockets and luck to find a shop that could do this...
Finally installed the 14 bolt i had picked up from the junk yard a while back. My truck came with the 10 bolt and 3.42 gears. 14 bolt has 4.10's which should really help with the 33" tires.
14 bolt came from an avalanche i believe. i believe these came factory in truck with 6.2L but you'll have...
Thanks for the comment!
The 1500 Tahoes and Suburbans really do make great daily drivers. My daily is an 08 Tahoe and i will likely continue to daily it and leave the suburban for overlanding/weekend duties.
I'm still partial to the GMT800s though. The nnbs style trucks just don't quite do it...
