    Loving my E85 right now

I've been running it exclusively for about a year now. I'll pour a can of Berryman's B12 in every couple of months when I think about it just for the hell of it. Hard starts/extended cranking and rougher cold start idle are normal with E85 in cold weather. We don't have enough cold weather...

    Coolant Drain Plug on Block...2012 / 5.3

Ah, a tinkerer/fabricator, too, are ya? BTW, the same can be done for the fill plug on manual transmissions if you don't have a large enough hex wrench.

    Coolant Drain Plug on Block...2012 / 5.3

I found a bolt and nut that fit that plug (5/8" head maybe?). I welded the nut to the bolt, inserted it into the plug and used a socket and ratchet to turn it.

    Short block purchase

You would think with all the other mods, it'd have different heads or modded heads. Although, it has rings gapped for boost. Maybe low boost and bumped compression for peppiness when off boost, being a truck engine? OP needs to get some important details.

    Short block purchase

I was wondering this as well. If the 706s were modded (2" intake valves and mild porting), they could be better than the 243/799 with their equal or better flow volume but more turbulent swirl and higher compression. That higher compression would compliment the cam.

Growing up doesn't have to suck

I'm driving 90 miles to see a chick. Clearly, a driveshaft is NOT what's on my mind.

Growing up doesn't have to suck

I've already forgotten about it. lol Been seeing a girl 90 miles away and haven't had the ol' Hippo off the road long enough to dismantle her. Of course, now that I'm looking at the driveshaft area, I'm tempted to have that custom aluminum one made up.

Growing up doesn't have to suck

It's summer. Do it. Don't be a bítch. Ease into it by undermounting without the spacer first and take precise B/A measurements after a settling drive.

Growing up doesn't have to suck

It was just as I found it. No drips. But, I don't expect it to get better.

Growing up doesn't have to suck

I somehow missed all the following replies. I have that same hardware kit- "720BAG3". RC's drop kit including the spacer being advertised as a 2" drop is where I'm confused. Without that .25" spacer, I should be around a 1.5" drop with just the undermount. I'm a visual learner. I...

Aluminum / XFE NNBS Front Suspension Rebuild

The only drawback is that you have to pull the axles to swap the backing plates. Considering the cost of the bolt-on kit versus the parts from a salvage yard or even parts store, I wouldn't consider it such a drawback. The diff fluid might need to be changed, anyway. May as well replace the...

Aluminum / XFE NNBS Front Suspension Rebuild

When I converted my 2002 to rear discs, I just got the setup off of a Blazer. Direct bolt-on and the abutment brackets just needed a little shimming with some Grade 8 washers. I also deleted the proportioning valve and ran the lines straight into the master cylinder, Later on, I replaced the...

    2007 tahoe motor swap

Does the 2013 Silverado NOT have VVT? @Dougie1290, the engine will swap and bolt up. If your Tahoe is FlexFuel and the Silverado is not, just swap your Tahoe intake manifold to the replacement engine. If your Tahoe is not FlexFuel and the Silverado is, again, keep your original intake...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

The earlier design of door panel was actually stronger, at least at the arm rest support portion. Why off eBay? There are lots of great salvage yards between Poplarville and Baton Rouge. Might could've gotten both matching panels and switches for that amount, especially from one of the many...
