    taillight issues

I’d start with the reverse since it’s simpler and odds are that if you fix it you’ll fix the others. Look for connector C409 (two possible locations below) and check for voltage at the light green wire’s pin when in reverse. The engine doesn’t have to be started for the reverse lights to...

Bolt In Roller Pins -- Cunningham Machine

Finally got around to doing mine as well. It took longer to get the old one out than to put the new one in. Should’ve done the door pins as well (they’re original) but couldn’t get motivated.

Yep, there’s a clip on the side of it.

    4l60e PWM delete

Thanks for chiming in guys. I’m going to drive it for a bit more and see what I think - will probably swing back by the shop and have them ride along.

    4l60e PWM delete

Thanks, I think I was expecting the soft engagement like a gear shift rather than the firmer action.

    4l60e PWM delete

Thanks, Nick, I appreciate the input. I think it’s definitely a case of me just being used to it driving a certain way and not being familiar with the alternative setup. So during lockup under heavier throttle, it’s normal for it to have two quick skips or “bump-bump” to it? It’s hard to...

    4l60e PWM delete

I had the transmission rebuilt on a 1998 Chevrolet K1500 (broken sun shell) and they deleted the PWM and installed a reman torque converter (1611-1654 stall). I don’t know what they used for the delete. At TCC lockup, how are these PWM deletes supposed to feel compared to the stock...

98 Yukon, The engine restore starts.

If you’re having a shop do the install, pay attention to the warranty labor rate if it has to be yanked out and shipped back. Some remans will only reimburse a percentage (say $50-$70/hr) for labor on warranty claims. It surely varies across the country, but most shops are probably in the...

    96 tahoe electrical issues

If it has a trailer harness, see how that looks. We had a 98 with some questionable “homemade” connections that caused blown fuses, loss of brake lights, interior lights and either the headlights or the running lights (I forget which).

    4 Wheel Drive Issue

Was the idler arm bracket also replaced? Despite the new parts (or in case you got a bad one) it’d be worthwhile to jack it up and check for play in the steering linkage.

    A/C pump on and off

Try post #111 in that link. It looks like another member posted another 1999 copy onto a Google drive.

    Brakes

The discard diameter will be stamped on the outside of the drum. A 10” drum will say Maximum ten-point-something inches and the 11” will be similar. Or check the RPO label in the glovebox. Code JB5 is 10”, JB6 is 11”. 11” drums tend to be better at keeping their adjustment but they’re not...

Service 4WD light came on last night, causing shifting problems

There should be a code set for it, you’ll need a scanner that can read chassis codes. Any shop with a good ($) scanner could pull them, it’d be worth dropping by one to see if they would do it for you real quick. GM publishes diagnostic procedures for each code in the shop manual, so that...

What did you do to your OBS GMT400 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Not my Tahoe, but the transmission in my 98 Z71 gave up the ghost this morning. When pulling out into traffic it gave a loud bang and no longer has reverse. I got it towed into the shop. I’m assuming it’s the sun shell but will see what the rebuild shop comes back with. It made it almost...
