I'm in the same boat. I had my original replaced in 2020, but the exact same issue is back. @BlackandChrome did you end up taking yours to the dealer or a different shop?
That's what I did. Used blue to tape to get a nice straight line to go off of, then used my Dremel with a cut off wheel on it. Then touched up the edge with a palm sander. Took maybe 10 minutes start to finish. Very happy with the results and saved me a ton of money.
I looked at getting a Yukon there years ago (ended up going out of state to get it), and they were really pushing the 181 day thing so they could get their commission off the sale.
I finally had time to get the new mirrors installed. Got both sides done in about 45 minutes. No clips broken. Can't believe I waited so long to do this!
Were you able to get the mirrors in White First Tri Coat?? I just bought a pair of Escalade mirrors that are Crystal White Tri Coat and I'm anxious to see how close they are in color.
Yeah. On both pages of this thread I have some pics. Really pleased with the way everything turned out.

Here's a thread of mine that shows how it looks now. Definitely worth trimming that giant thing!
