I know guys are saying keep the Magneride. For me… Too many complaints and problems with this system. If I get a LTZ with the Z55, first thing I’m doing is the following:
Replace front struts with ZW7
Replace rear coils and shocks with ZW7
For the folks that get confused with the suspension...
Question for you folks...
Was the ZW7 suspension offered WITHOUT RPO G65 (Self Leveling shocks) in this generation? The reason I ask is the coil spring will be firmer without G65. And that's what I am considering putting in my Escalady. I'm afraid the Z71 coil will make it sit too high and the...
Wow! Cool. I live in Mass and I bought a EX Vermont Crown Vic Interceptor about 3 years ago. I’ve since sold it. But it was a great car. They do take care of their fleet and considering it’s Vermont it’s not gonna be that severe usage.
I now have a 2011 PPV but should have gotten an SSV. I...
I have an 11 PPV and the overall ride quality is absolute crap. Period. The RSA tires skate all over the highway, it rides like a dump truck and it bobs up and down. Maybe the 15+ PPV is engineered better. I have driven several Police package vehicles. And these PPV Tahoe's are by far the worst...
Could someone with an SSV do me a favor and get me part numbers for the rear coil springs, shocks, front struts and front coil springs please? I'm looking to remove all my PPV suspension and replace it with SSV suspension. Can't stand the lousy ride.
Thanks
Dan
I believe you have to have the bose system in the vehicle to be able to hook up the OEM bose sub. The PPV/SSV comes with the base radio.
I'm doing the OEM jumpseat with a JL Audio Stealthbox 10" sub. Its a vehicle specific custom fit enclosure that fits in the bottom section of the jumpseat and...
Geez, I guess I got ripped off paying 11k for my 2011 with 179k on it, 7 antenna holes, 3 water leaks and all the usual interior butchering. I have over 2k in interior parts and various knik knacks and its still not 100%. Fortunately it was from Arizona so no rust at all.
I'm in the process of...
I don't know much about the Belltechs. But after doing some reading here, it looks like these are the way to go for PPV'S
The PPV has much stiffer shocks than a stock Tahoe. It also has shorter front and rear coil springs making it sit 1" lower in the front and 2" lower in the rear.
The tires...
Nice. But you kept the original PPV coil springs? I was thinking of changing those out and installing civilian Tahoe springs also. Kinda sucks too because I already replaced all my shocks/struts with OEM replacements.
