    The closest dealer takes me a full day round trip to get to. The lift gate was working intermittently but has gotten worse and won’t open at all now. All I hear now is a faint click when you hit the open button on the lift gate.

    As mentioned I used a siphon pump and got as much as I could through the dip stick tube. I couldn’t get the pan out from by the exhaust even after pulling it down with a ratchet strap,,, not sure why because I see lots of people that could.     So I got home to try it. It worked fine the first 3 times I tried it then, when pressing the button on the gate i heard a click, and it tried to push open but then quit before it could open. After that the button becomes unresponsive. If you let it sit some more and fiddle with the off/3/4/full...

    I did that when they failed to replace our a/c condenser last year when it started leaking and they still wouldn't do anything for me. I even contacted gm customer care with the special coverage number.

    I've decided to do this myself. I want to see how much filings is in the pan and I want the filter changed. I will use my vacuum pump through the dip stick tube to remove most of the fluid before dropping the pan. I'm thinking I could just use the pump in between filter changes to do a half oil...

    Service tech recommended a fluid change only. They don't like to do the filter because of the seal apparently. I feel like I want the filter changed as it never has been.     After looking into this it seems we have all the same symptoms of a failing vacuum pump. I assumed the recall we already had done corrected this problem.

    Interesting. I'm going to call my dealer and ask about this job. Buddy of mine also has a yukon like mine 2017 also and his transmission went out at 180000kms. So this is why I got looking into this.
