I run 93 in my 05 Suburban LT. I definitely do notice a difference between the 87/93, it feels peppier and smoother. The mileage gain I get from it is 1-2 MPG, which helps offset the difference in cost and ends up being minor.

when i was managing an exxon my boss(owners son 40yr old kid!) loved to do fuel miles/consumption test since he never needed paid for gas...we tested alot of vehicles but one we did the most was in his 97 tahoe with 36in BFG AT's and 6in suspension and 3in body lift ,superchips tuning ......... we would also see how the gas depots would have the fuel trucks bring crappy fuel which would hurt mileage/performance and the cats

results were pretty amazing premium 93 with BG44k was the best overall and 93 octane was almost equal to 87 with BG44k additive, now as far as what the 5 gas analyzer showed on the dyno we burned most efficient with 93 and additives .... we never changed anything in tune for these tests and we did this ALOT due to my boss having nothing better to do!

i dont know if this helps any1 but i thought i would share the results of some very expensive research.
