These look great. I am really going to get a hold of you guys to black out my lights on the escalade sometime. I also told my brother about you guys as he wants to do the same on is 11 F250.

Sounds great! I'm happy to set anyone up with a build. We've done a lot of the Superduties as well -- 5+ sets alone last month.

Happy Thursday :)

Personally not a fan of halos on anything other than a BMW. It just looks out of place to me.

Any reason why you went with the Morimoto Mini vs the FX-r's? I'm assuming you also used the new v3.0 minis? From what I've gathered, the FX-r is still superior to the v3.0. The only reason I can see using the V3 is because its super easy to install vs the cutting you'll have to do with an FX-r.

Halos are a personal preference item - totally up to each individual customer. This particular customer loved them.

The FX-R projectors require more extensive modifications to the housing backs to fit/function. This is less than ideal for overall housing fitment, function and a quality seal. The Yukon & Denali housings are shallow to begin with as well.

The D2S v3.0 is definitely a high performance projector when compared to the FX-R's. Are the FX-R's better - slightly, yes. Superior - that's a matter of opinion - and not the case in our professional experience.

As for install - regardless of the projector chosen for this specific vehicle, there is a good amount of labor & fabrication that goes into a build, along with attention to detail that can't be overlooked.

Thanks for the input. :)

I've done a few retrofits on past cars (audi, VW, BMW) and I'm looking forward to this one. I'm very meticulous and I have no doubts it will turn out well. You make a very point with the Yukon backs being shallow. The Morimoto D2s V3 would definitely be an easier install.

Does the V3 have a farther beam vs. the FX-r's good foreground characteristic?

The v3.0's definitely have a good distance punch with their bowl design. Both projectors have desirable characteristics to be honest.

Thanks

After a few adjustments, here are some pics after installation..
1st one no fogs, just halos and side marker
2nd one, projectors, fogs, halos and side markers
3rd one, outside
4th one, side view
5th one in off state outside.

I'm very happy with the results. I realize not everybody likes halos, but the best part is that we all have choices and BFC / JB can make it happen!
I did disconnect the running light in the turn signal area and install just a amber LED used for only turn signal now. Amber halo is my new running light with side marker at night. Many compliments thus far. Thanks again JB for building what I wanted!
Now, those ugly incandescent bulbs for the fogs are next to go. Maybe halos on the bottom as well or just 5k LED's...

Thanks Albert - glad you're happy! The lights turned out great and look awesome on the truck. :)
