You mentioned the connectors on the Dorman mirror and the other problems. I have stated several times, and so have many other members, never buy anything electrical from Dorman. I have 3 of their exhaust manifold broken stud clamps on my rig and they work great.
I now know and knowing is half the battle :)

the next question then is...
did the dorman mirror power function work?
if yes then all you need to buy a is the motor for your oem mirror, in which case there are many used oem ones on ebay. they are fairly easy to remove and replace you can do it in about 15 minutes with a couple small hand tools. you don't even have to remove the mirror from the truck.

Also, might be able to cannibalize the Dorman to repair the OEM--if you're not sending it back for a refund.
Where are you located? I'm in NJ and I have both sides in my garage. If you're local I could just give them to you. They might be good to fix yours.

Yes they worked. I made sure I checked it all so I know it was the mirror that was the issue.

I am on Long Island. I am sending it back. thanks though. What parts would I need if you can let me know. I may be able to find them on ebay and fix it that way. I called a salvage yard today and they said they could get one but it would be $250 used.

Not really sure what parts you'd exactly need. I'd assume the motor itself. It's what the mirror is attached to. I'm not familiar with the nnbs mirror internals as I have an nbs.
Here's a pic of mine with the mirror off.20190511_135604.jpg20190511_135604.jpg20190511_135609.jpg20190511_140435.jpg20190511_143426.jpg

These are the nnbs mirrors I have--somewhere--in my garage.
Basically for parts, as I've never tested them, but I was told they worked.

I sont see the white wire which is what I have. I have the foldable/heat/signal ones. My "motor" which I spent a few days looking for I could not find the exact one. Not sure if it was maybe from a different vehicle or not but I couldnt find it online for the life of me.

If I just buy the actuator would this maybe make the mirror work again? I may pick it up from amazon and try it out.
