Send these pics to PML Covers. Older Ford maybe or military but can't put my finger on it.
Ok thanks. I thought maybe a 50’s era GM tri-five but I have no idea but I really need to know what type of rear axle this is and if it’s strong enough for my project.
I’m doing a LS swap (5.3L) cammed up and carbureated with a TH-350 transmission in a 57’ Chevy truck. Now it’s possible that it’s the stock rear end but not sure.
My dad started this build back in the early 80’s. But the truck was found in a junkyard all burned up and the only thing that was left was the cab and frame. He actually got it running and drove it. From what everyone tells me that this truck hauled ass. It had a 383 stroker, but it needed to be rebuilt and rather than doing that I decided to go LS. Same transmission and rear-end. My dad passed away when I was 6 so I never really got to know him and the truck has sat inside for the last 32 years. I’m 38 now and a few months back I nearly lost my mother to leukemia. So I decided that it was time to get it up and running. I promised my mom that I would get it up and running and take her for a ride before it was too late. Two months of work and I’m almost there. Just a few odd and ends. Here’s a couple other pictures of the truck.
