I so want one of those 2 doors! They're so awesome! I would drop my XL for one in a heartbeat.

Not me.

I had an '84 and an '88 2 door S10 Blazer, loved them, didn't think I'd ever need more room than that. I bought a '94 4-door for my wife, as she had to carry the kids everywhere. When my '88 shit the bed after 5 years, I wanted to go full size, strictly because I started carrying tools all the time (more room=more shit carrying capability), and I found a '90 Suburban at an auction for $1400. SOOOOOOO much more room than the Blazer(s), I could comfortably sleep in the rear (working overnights doing stagehand work up to 2 1/2 - 3 hrs away, slept a few hours before driving home). When that died after 3 years, I got a 4-door '96 Tahoe (8 years), then a '01 Suburban (one year before getting totaled), and now my '04 Yukon XL (year and a half).

I found the 4-doors were so much easier to access tools and materials that were halfway in the cargo area. And after having the longer Suburban(s) and Yukon Xl's, I could never downsize, as I like being able to close the hatch on full sheets of plywood and sheetrock. Also, as it is, my genetically mutant children barely fit in the back of the XL - I even moved the middle seats back 2" for more legroom for them.

It should fit. I didn't look at numbers on orig belt or alt housing; I didn't think to do so but does seem pertinent for further diagnosis. Thank you. Details to follow.

Used my cheap buffer to try to eliminate some swirls. Worked pretty good not nearly perfect but much better also used some 0000 steel wool on the awful chrome wheels. I need to paint these asap. Over all truck looks good the hood is the worst part

I know when I replaced my alternator with the same size 145 amp on it was all I could do to get the belt to go back on. It took 5 times as long to get the belt back on as from start to finish on changing out the alternator.

I upgraded my 130a alt to a 145a amp and the belt fit exactly the same. But then I bought a smaller alternator pulley off ebay to try and bump up the amperage output at idle. The smaller pulley did help, but the belt seemed like it was almost loose. The tensioner didn't have much tension on it at all to keep the belt on. And then sometimes when I would get my foot down ******* the loud pedal, I could hear the belt slipping and squealing a bit. So I ended up getting a smaller size belt. I got the one for a 105a alternator and it's honestly a bit "too" small, but it does fit. To fit the belt on, the tensioner is twisted pretty much as far as it will go. So I should honestly have a belt sized somewhere in between those two.
@Chubbs , do you think you could force the belt on if you had a slightly smaller alternator pulley? If so, then that belt is probably one for a 105amp alternator and somehow got misprinted with the wrong part number? Who knows what the hell happened....
