Found this video recently and thought I'd share

What a PITA just to change a battery out! Turns out I didn't need a new battery after all. Upon further investigation I discovered that the engine drive belt was off and found several of these also,

I'm assuming he knocked the belt off on his way out of the engine bay upon remote start.

I did discover you can fit one of the batteries from Costco, I believe it is an Interstate bat without removing the air box. It was tight removing the original but it can be done. The new battery was a little smaller and went in without removing everything.

This is a better video showing how to do it without removing the air box, coolant reservoir, etc.

I wasn't sure if there was an issue laying a battery on it's side? Anybody know for sure if that's a problem, even for a short bit just to get it in place?

If it's sealed (or caps on snugly- do they even make them this way any more?) it should be fine, especially just for a few moments to get it out of there.

If the new battery was a little smaller it probably was DIN size H6. The H7/94R size is the OEM size. H6 is same width and height as H7 but about 1.5 inches shorter than the H7 (and fewer CCA's too). I'd stick with the OEM size.

I'm planning on it. I had a new battery in waiting that dealership sent home with salesman I bought truck from as we live in the same town. The one they sent though was an ac delco 48HPG which didn't match the original. Turned out I didn't need it & was wrong one so I returned it.

That probably sounds about right on the battery size and I do remember thinking it was a little bit less on the CCA's, but not much. However, that was the one they had listed and I don't have any extra accessories on the Tahoe. Plus it was like $110 instead of some of the ridiculous prices I've seen posted. We will see how it goes.
