Removed the fender trim, but still deciding on if to put the running boards back on or not. Think it looks good all natural lol.

Black running boards and fender flares aren't bad...but I was always a sucker for Tony Soprano's Suburban.

You ever think about black step bars?

Got her back from the body shop today. Not very happy with the paint job but guess its what i can expect for 1500 even if insurance did pay for it and he did a bit extra for me by painting the used hood. Removed the fender trim, but still deciding on if to put the running boards back on or not. Think it looks good all natural lol. Got all the new headlights signal and side markers in. Need to clean up the clear silicone i put in the headlights and stuff to keep from leaking though. I did a bad job lol

Looks pretty decent in the pics, I would have had the dent in the hood fixed tho kinda takes away from how clean that truck is

Got the rear diff fluid done, the oil change done, lots of engine bay an various crevice cleaning done, and new serpentine belt/tensioner/idler done.

Major bits to still do short-term:

-New A/C compressor
-New brake hard lines
-Tune up components

Truck made a nice 70 mile drive to work today, and I look forward to the drive home!

Today I gave up on my Yukon being found. Its been 13 days since it was stolen. After tomorrow insurance will cash me out. Guess its a good thing I had full coverage? wasn't perfect but it was close. Always wanted to restore it to practically brand new condition. everything including the 4 wheel drive worked flawlessly, rebuilt the suspension. Had black rock wheels, front and rear sway bars, intake and exhaust. Had 173,000 miles on it, no body damage. It was stolen in Oakland CA, probably in pieces by now. RIP.

Sorry you couldn't recover it, hope you get a good insurance payout.

Are you going to look for another one?

No I don't think so. I had it since 2012. I had planned on never selling it, and if I get another one I would feel like I'm starting over. Plus my wife got pregnant same week it was stolen. I'm looking for a daily driver so I can save up for a newer truck. Would have kept on daily driving it though, wasn't the best on gas but i could take it anywhere.

I got a notification from LKQ that a 97 2 door hit their yard on Friday. Checked out the pics and saw lots of stuff I could rob, like nerf bars, fender flares, maybe seats. Got there and it was absolutely thrashed. They somehow broke the passenger seat with jamming in the 32's that were on it into the back seat. I can't even begin to describe what wild animal lived inside it beforehand. I was so excited because 2 doors NEVER hit the yard, the hubby and I were trying to figure out how it was there and not parted out. Well one look inside explained it all. I was able to get the factory fender flares off, mine is going to look good with them. The 94 Suburban catty-corner for it had brand new taillights, so those went with me. The hubby also grabbed the lock mechanism from the barn doors on the 97 2 door and now my power locks work all the way around. I scrubbed the inside of mine (so much red clay EVERYWHERE), installed the new taillights and I found a set of badges for the trim, the bowtie 1500 ones that were pristine, so those went on. I have 11 days and Black Betty will be my DD. And then it will be upper and lower ball joints, inner and outer tie rods and idle arm and pittman arm. The front is very loose and spongy.

In case you don't have it, car-part.com is a good search engine for local salvage yards. Sometimes they include photos of the vehicles.
