Nope. No flash codes on OBD2 (post 1996) vehicles, not even 1996+ Jeeps.

On my 98 Cherokee and 2007 Wrangler,
I get the codes by turning the ignition key 3 times on and off.

You must have a scanner as SLCHOE states. There are relatively inexpensive scanners available (Hfreight) but you say you have one. 20 years ago some cars had series of flashing lights that meant particular but unspecified things, but actual drivetrain codes are specific and must have a scanner.

Not only flashing lights,
I get all P codes numbers displayed in the odometer.
I really like that as I don't always carry the scanner, special when I'm away on off road trips.

Bringing an old OBD2 thread back to life. My check engine light is now on in my 03 Yukon 5.3 so I stopped in to Autozone to get an idea on what the cause is. The kid tried two different scanners they have and neither of them would work. He said my truck isn't giving a signal. Anyone ever heard of this?

Did you check all your fuses? Seems like I remember somebody having that problem. May or may not have been the cigarette lighter circuit too, can’t remember. I’d check them all, and if they’re ok, try a different auto store, maybe he doesn’t know what he’s doing.

To the best of my knowledge, that's only compatible with certain dodge Chrysler jeeps since the late 90's.
