Made the quick decision to order an 18 4x4 PPV in tungsten as long as that color is still available. Wife and I went and test drove a 17 today and she loved it. Salesman says the 18s are supposed to come with io5 so I'm hoping his info was correct and also that the steering wheel controls are included. Will be having them add leather seats also. Will be her daily driver. She currently drives my old 2013 f250 CCLB that's lifted and has a 90 gallon slip tank in the bed. Our son starts school in August and we will be having to drive him to and from so figured this would be a better choice for that.

Trying to figure all the options up and for sure the city brake package, front tow hooks, power pedals....any thing else y'all would recommend?

Anyone else ordering? Was told the banks open up jun 22 and that will be the day we put ours in

Her truck has great, only has 45k miles. I bought a 17 F450 for hauling duties so no need for both anymore

Salesman called today and received confirmation that the 18s will include io5 and also there will be some new colors. Satin steel metallic is one of them. He supposed me send me over the order guide to study up on.

Hope to be cruising around aug/sept

How is a civilian able to order a PPV? I thought they were limited to public safety and governmental agencies.

My recollection is that a Chevy dealer stirred up a hornet's nest when it sold new Caprice PPVs to the public. As a result, I was told that GM modified its dealer agreements to limit the distribution of PPV vehicles.

Perhaps the gentleman is one of the qualified class :)

LEO, Firefighter/VFD, EMT or Game Warden. These are all qualifying professions.

If not, please let me know your dealer as I will be placing an order for a 2018 as a civilian as well. :)

I really don't see what the big deal is anyhow. I mean it's not like these vehicle are crushed once the LEO's are done with them. Civilians end up with them anyhow. What about a construction Co. wanting a good strong work style suv with all the heavy duty stuff. Most of the police options have to be ordered as SEO's any ways. Not everyone needs a 70k Vehicle. just my 2 cents

You got it. Qualified profession. Getting excited and it's not even mine. My wife will be driving it and yes, even she qualifies

The biggest difference is the pricing structure. It's not because of how they are outfitted. You can find brand new 2wd on eBay for 35k. Sticker in the glove box is into the 50s. You just need to satisfy they qualifications

Brett is spot on. And because of the fleet purchase path it is not possible to buy these vehicles without the discount.

I tried. I was willing to pay sticker to get a 2015 PPV built to order, but eventually GM asked for the department PO# or badge number to get the build on the schedule - of course at that point the deal fell through. Incidentally the full sticker for the build was going to be $48,900 - the actual price would have been $32,500.

In the end I managed to find a very low mile lease turn in less than a year old.

47,000 miles in and still love this as my daily driver.

Order was pushed back from the week of sept 11 to the week of oct 2nd. Dealer had no idea why other than possibly trying to fulfill a big gov order. Maybe for Austin Tx that Parked their for fleet due to exhaust in the cabin. Wife Is getting excited
