I apologize for creating another front dash crack thread. I do realize there are a few including the very long one that I have posted in many times. My dash has been cracked for a while now and recently the section behind the steering wheel is literally falling apart as you can see.

Now I have tried many times to get GM and/or the dealer to at least throw in the labor if I purchase a new dash piece. Like most others, they have told me to fork over $1000 to replace or hit the road. I am done with that route. On this particular issue, I have concluded that GM sucks and they don't care. So I move on.

It has gotten to the point where I need to replace it and I can't fork over $1000 to do so. I believe the dealer quoted me around $300 for the part. This vehicle is not my daily driver so there is a good amount of time for DIY replacement.

I have searched and don't believe I have found a NNBS dash replacement video or tutorial yet. Maybe there is one? I would like to get this replaced and I think while tedious it is possible with the proper tools. I plan to attempt this soon and can document how it goes.

Any suggestions or personal experience with front dash replacement would be very welcome.

renamed this thread because the way it sounded, made it sound like YOU were posting a DIY on how to do it...

Thanks for posting. One of my main questions was whether or not special tools were needed.

So I watched that whole video. Will take a good amount of time and patience, but seems doable. I see he just repaired the dash in the video. I am tempted to apply plastic epoxy to the new dash in the weak areas before installing to give those 2 areas extra strength.

Jut called Thompson GMC in Raleigh, NC. Not only is my main piece cracked, but the thinner piece that goes against the windshield is also cracked around the middle.

Smaller Dash Piece - $238.03
Main Dash Piece - $438.58

I may be wrong, but the price seems to have gone up on the parts.

Found the parts at gmpartsdirect. My interior color code is 333, which is "Light tan". I assume that is the same as cashmere.

Instrument Panel - 2008 GMC Yukon (23224748) $339.35
Upper Trim Panel - 2008 GMC Yukon (23224734) $154.25

Estimated Shipping to Wake Forest, NC: $159.95

Mine looks like a POS as you can see. I guess the overlay is an option to consider.
