I'm really close to buying a 2010 Z71. I use to own a 04 which was stolen from right in front of my apartments I don't live in the best area. But my 04 had a viper alarm with 1 mile range and not even a notification on remote just woke up ready for work and wasnt there. I was reluctant about buying another tahoe but really like 2010 z71. So does anyone have tips on protecting it? Is compustar with drone good? Or should I just not buy the z71.? I want the compustar drone because of geo fencing but does it work always? So many concerns so any tips?

I have that setup. Absolutely love it. You can set it so you get alerted on your phone for engine start, leaves a certain proximity and bunch of other features. Not included but highly recommend is the tilt sensor. Alarm will trigger of someone jacks your truck up even the slightest. Also it has a sensor that will trigger of it is pushed or pulled. From where it was parked and armed.

I've had an Autopage 2-way alarm ever since 2006. Yes, I know it's SEVERELY outdated now, but it's served me well for the past ten years now. I also have an extra siren, plus I have it wired to honk the factory horn just like the stock alarm does. So when it's triggered, it's loud as all ****, plus it triggers the two way pager/remote. I live in a bad area and I've only had it triggered 4-5 times in ten years, and three of those times was when I was shopping at a store, somebody hit my truck in the parking lot and obviously triggered my alarm. Either they were actually trying to break in, or else they just accidentally bumped it and set it off, who knows. It's been a good alarm, but it's time to upgrade to a Viper 5706 two way alarm/remote start.

Seems to be. You can also use drone like a low jack. You could track your vechile. I'd definitely also consider the battery back up. One idea I had but never looked into it was a ignition kill if you press your panic from your phone.
